Description

The PROTON 5, JW Fishers' fifth-generation proton magnetometer, is a top-performing marine detection system driven by a microprocessor. With a maximum range capability of 1,500 feet on each side (3,000-foot total swath), it quickly and thoroughly searches wide areas, ideal for locating iron and steel targets like pipelines, anchors, and cannons, even when buried in the seabed. Its detection range remains consistent regardless of the medium between the magnetometer and the target, making it suitable for various environments. With a sensitivity of one Nano-Tesla (nT), it offers maximum usability, and a two-second cycle time ensures efficient detection, even of small targets. Featuring a triaxial noise-canceling sensor, it allows omnidirectional towing without errors or dead zones. The system displays measurements on a backlit 6-inch LCD screen and offers user-friendly menus for easy configuration. It maintains excellent hydrodynamic characteristics, capable of smooth towing at speeds up to 10 knots, with options for precise distance off the bottom and deep water towing. Its collapsible design fits into a watertight Pelican® case, with modular construction for easy field repair.
